Scientific Games moves into live casinos with Authentic Gaming

Barely three months after completing the purchase of Australian-based games developer Lighting Box, Scientific Games Corporation has acquired Authentic Gaming, marking the company’s entry into the live casino market.

Announcing the deal, the developer termed the move as a significant milestone in its strategic plan, which sets out its long-term vision of becoming a leading cross-platform gaming company globally. The company also said that the merger would enable it to attain its goal of diversifying its portfolio and boosting its market share in the fast-growing United States online casino market.

The collective power of Authentic, our proven Table Games titles and our OpenGaming platform allow us to capitalize on a growing US market opportunity with our unique omni-channel approach,” Scientific Games CEO Barry Cottle said.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer of iGaming, Dylan Slaney, added: “As a result of welcoming Authentic to Scientific Games, we will be uniquely positioned to continue to excite and entertain players to capture both the growth opportunities that exist within Live Casino and the convergence of players globally across digital and land-based channels by providing leading immersive experiences. Authentic Gaming delighted to expand footprint with SG merger

In its statement, Authentic Gaming said that Scientific Games’ position as a leading supplier of online casino games and iGaming solutions in the United States would not only enable it to expand its footprint in the country, but it would also go a long way in helping to bolster its market share in Europe.

“Scientific Games’ leading position in the US, their focus on quality games content and market-leading iGaming platform make them the ideal home for Authentic to expand our footprint in the US and European markets. Our proven technology and live dealer platform is ready for scale and now, as part of Scientific Games, we are able to embark on our studio expansion and game diversification strategy in full force,” stated Authentic’s Founder and CEO, Jonas Delin.

Delin added that the partnership would power Authentic’s mission of delivering top-quality, innovative, and customer-centric live dealer games to players, and also help it to become a game-changer in the iGaming industry.

The Malta-based supplier is known for its solid portfolio of live dealer games, which include live roulette and live blackjack. The company’s offering is already live in several European markets through partnerships with leading operators like Mr Green, Entain, Betway, and 888.

SG and Authentic to build new live casino studios in the US

Following the acquisition of Authentic Gaming, Scientific Games has revealed plans to build new live casino studios in the US as part of its efforts to provide a localized product to operators across the country.

Although the company did not provide further details about the studio expansion plans and the markets that would benefit from the new offering, the rollout is expected to commence in states where the supplier has an online presence.The Nevada-based games developer is licensed to supply internet casino games in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan.

Some of its partners in these states include heavyweights like Rush Street Interactive, Golden Nugget Online Gaming, Caesars, BetMGM, and DraftKings, as well as newer names like Firekeepers Casino in Michigan.
