Symbols and payouts of iSoftBet’s Paranormal Activity
Before we get into the symbols we have to say the main Wild symbol is utterly terrifying – but more on that below.
iSoftBet has chosen to use the 10-A symbols to present the low paying symbols – with three of a kind earning you a payout – but they have been designed to fit with the theme.
The middle to high paying symbols involve all things related to the films such as the camera, the bedrooms, the Ouija board, and the device used on the board. You can view their payouts by clicking on the paytable.
There’s quite a few top symbols to keep an eye out for in the base game too, including the Wild, which is the scary ghost girl who instantly gave us the creeps; the Scatter which is a gory hand we can’t stop thinking will jump out and grab our ankle; and the Bonus symbol, which is the mini Bonus Wheel with the text ‘Bonus’.
The latter two symbols trigger their own bonus features, while the Wild substitutes for all symbols except the Bonus and Scatter and appears in its own random feature. Additionally, Scatter symbols pay any way, while Bonus Symbols only exist on reels 1, 3, and 5.

Paranormal Activity bonus features
There’s quite a few bonus features, including multiple Free Spins features, which will get your heart racing.
First up there is a Bonus Wheel, which is triggered by spinning three Bonus Symbols, and features a petrifying demon in the centre watching as the potential prizes are selected. Here you can trigger one of the three free spins features – with two options on the wheel – or an instant cash payout.

The theme is utterly petrifying – we’ve seen a few of the films and they rocked us to our core. However, iSoftBet have done an incredible job in getting the graphics and audio on par with the films.
Everything about the title screams Paranormal Activity – even the Full Screen button in the top left hand corner has been tied in to look as if it is the recording symbol on a camera.
The handheld camera shaking, which the films are known for, is present too and creates the real-life ambience. The static also adds to the overall eeriness and is even present when viewing the paytable.
The audio is quite incredible. It sounds as if it has come straight from the film, perhaps something to do with partnering with Paramount Pictures. If you’re playing this late at night or home alone, perhaps mute the screams and the heavy breathing if you want to make it though the spins.
Our thoughts on Paranormal Activity
If we are honest, it was incredibly hard reviewing this game. From the moment we opened the reels we were reminded of the scream-inducing scenes the films produced.
If you do happen to make it to the Free Spins features, potentially mute the sound as someone is heavily breathing and it made us run around and lock all our doors and windows. If you like this sort of thing, crank up the volume and prepare to be scared out of your skin.
The option for multiple Free Spins and Bonus features is quite incredible so if you can handle the theme, this is one slot you should place your wagers on. However, it did take us some time to trigger the Bonus Wheel just to get the Free Spins to be sure to note this.
