If you’re screaming ‘help me I’m poor’ just like when Annie Walker sulks with her shades on, then you’re going to want to try your luck on a real money slot game. For those who don’t get that reference, you may not enjoy this slot game as it is a quote from the film this title is based on. If you do, or you simply enjoy multi-level bonus slots, this Microgaming title is for you.
Best online casino sites for Bridesmaids
While the film was released five years prior to the video slot release in 2015, there’s no forgetting the hilarious one liners which have also been included thanks to the rights granted by Universal Pictures. We are greeted to most of the characters from the film and although we aren’t quite sure Microgaming have captured the comedic value the movie offered, there are some interesting bonus features to check out.
Bridesmaids slot theme and bet sizes
Bridesmaids features five reels and four rows, as well as 40 paylines, all set on a pink background with detailing similar to the movie posters.
Despite the large number of paylines, the betting range is still in the low to medium range with a minimum of $0.40 per spin and a maximum of $60 per spin. Coin sizes range from 0.01 up to 0.10.
Unfortunately, Microgaming totally stuffed up when it comes to the soundtrack. Instead of adding in audio from the movie, they’ve used the background noise of an online casino (specifically the slot machine area). While there are some one liners added in, these only take place in the bonus rounds which is pretty disappointing – it almost seems as if Microgaming were trying to hold onto their traditional casino game feel so much they’ve overseen the possible potential.
We do have to say the theme could’ve been a bit better, especially when compared to such a big movie hit but the bonuses might just make up for it.
You can play on any device but when you convert to mobile gameplay – Apple and Android smartphones and tablets work best – you may find the screen size just a little too small to view the clips in the bonus rounds.
Bridesmaids slot symbols
While Microgaming didn’t stick to their usual inclusion of the 9-A symbols for the lower value symbols, they’ve used weird gems instead which have no association with the film whatever.
These gems payout depending on how many you spin and your bet size, with the highest possible payout set at $240 (spinning five of the same coloured gems at max bet).
While the gems make no sense, the rest of the symbols including the middle value symbols are the characters from the film. Familiar faces include Annie (Kristen Wiig), Lillian (Maya Rudolph), Megan (Melissa McCarthy), Helen (Rose Byrne), Rita (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and Becca (Ellie Kemper).
There’s also the Wild symbol which is the game logo and can appear Stacked, while also substituting for every symbol except the Scatter.
The Scatter is the cupcake and you need to spin at least three to activate the Wheel Bonus (we will detail below).
Bridesmaids bonus features
This is where the game redeems itself – Bridesmaids offers a multi-level bonus activated by spinning at least three Scatter symbols. The reels transform and here you will be prompted to pick one cupcake from four to either reveal whether you will win the pink or blue, or both, prizes on the reels, multipliers to apply to the base game, or additional pointers for the wheel to earn more than one prize.
Then a Wheel will appear for you to spin and you can win one, or three if you scored three pointers, out of 11 prizes, or you will trigger one of the four bonus features. The four bonus levels include:
- Boutique Bonus: Players need to match up the Bridesmaids’ characters to win cash, as well as have multipliers applied
- Magic Moments Bonus: Players select a moment from an array of clips (from the movie, which is great for fans) to win cash. Try not to choose the ‘End Game’ symbol as it will remove you from the bonus round
- Flying High Free Spins: Players are awarded 10 free spins with Growing Wilds and Rolling Reels
- Friendship Free Spins: Players are awarded 10 free spins with Stacked symbols and the Win Both Ways format activated
Bridesmaids slot- our verdict
We played Bridesmaids at Guts Casino on our laptop and found the game was smooth and the graphics were of high quality. The theme was a little bit of a let down in the base game but the bonus rounds definitely make up for it. Not only do the bonus rounds feature clips from the film and classic one liners, but they offer an exciting way to trigger them, alongside the chance to win 11 different cash prizes. The best bonus for fans is the Magic Moment bonus, while the Flying High Free Spins are great for the slot professionals.
Overall, the bonus features saved this game and while the theme could’ve been somewhat better, mainly in the base game, we got our kick eventually.
