After a successful debut in the regulated Spanish online gambling market earlier this year, leading games developer Habanero has secured another partnership that will see it ramp up its market reach in the country.
Early this week, the company revealed that it had inked a deal with Codere that would see the Spanish gambling powerhouse incorporate Habanero’s games portfolio into its Spain-facing iGaming platform, www.codere.es.
Announcing the latest partnership, Habanero’s Head of Business Development in Europe, Arcangelo Lonoce, said that it the company was thrilled to once again team up with the online casino operator in yet another regulated market.
Lonoce went on to state that the Codere had played a crucial role in his company’s impactful expansion in Latin America, and that the new deal was critical to its success as it continues to work on growing its footprint in the global gambling space.
“We are delighted to be teaming up with Codere once again, with the operator playing a significant role in bolstering the audience for our titles across a number of key markets. Securing agreements such as this one is crucial to the success of our roadmap for the future, and we look forward to working alongside Codere’s talented team over the coming months,” said Lonoce.
Habanero first entered Spain in April this year via a deal with 888.
Codere lauds ‘renowned’ Habanero portfolio
In its statement, Codere noted that Habanero’s slots are highly popular, adding that the developer’s portfolio has an impressive track record of performance across several markets. The company further said that it is highly pleased to build upon its existing partnership with the supplier.
Habanero has more than 140 online casino games to its name, and some of its popular titles include Egyptian dreams Deluxe, Colossal Gems, Candy Shop, Hot Hot Fruit, and Return to the Feature.
“Habanero’s renowned slot portfolio has a proven track record of performance across a wide variety of demographics, so we are delighted to be able to join forces once again to entertain Spain’s players,” said Codere’s Casino Product Manager, Sarit Adania.
Spain is the third country for the Habanero-Codere partnership after Columbia and Mexico.
Habanero making big strides in Africa
In addition to its recent deal with Codere, Habanero has also announced its first African market-access deal with world-renowned online casino and sportsbook operator Betway.
The terms of the agreement allow the Super Group-owned company to offer Habanero’s state-of-the-art games to its customers in the Ghanaian market through the Betway Ghana website. Betway Ghana is part of the operator’s Africa-facing business, Betway Africa, and it has been in the country’s regulated market since May 2016.
Commenting on the new agreement, Habanero’s Head of Business Development in Europe termed the deal as a decisive move forward in the company’s vision of penetrating the regulated African market. The executive went on to state that the developer considers the continent as a truly promising area in its expansion strategy.
“Now live in Ghana, we can’t wait to start introducing our games to more and more players there than ever before,” added Arcangelo Lonoce, Habanero’s Head of Business Development in the European market.
Ghana boasts one of the biggest gaming markets in Africa, and it is only second to Nigeria in terms of gambling revenue and number of active players in the western part of the continent.
